Students are mainly aged about 16–19, some adult students, as well
Studying is voluntary, but still about 96% are continuing studies after basic education
Upper secondary education is primarily free of charge for students, but students have to pay for some equipment and materials, e.g. the course books
Dropping out rate is about 9% in vocational education and 3% in general education
Three-year vocational or general studies give eligibility for further studies in institutions of higher education, e.g. universities and universities of applied sciences.
