Seminar - WORKING WITH ENTHUSIASM AND PLEASURE

WORKING  WITH  ENTHUSIASM  AND  PLEASURE

On the 13-th of January, 2011 was held a seminar with more than a hundred students from our school, working on the Comenius project ENERGY  FOR  TOMORROW. Its aim was to familiarize the children with new techniques for making postcards, envelopes, brooches, souvenirs, etc. from recycled materials.

The motto of the seminar was REDUCE  REUSE  RECYCLE. The students were shown how to make postcards using old boxes of chocolates or sweets, ribbons from bouquets, beeds, sequins, buttons and so on. They got very enthusiastik about it, especially when they saw St. Valentine’s cards, brooches and souvenirs. They were eager to try  making them themselves and the result was fascinating.

The organizers of the event /Mariana Krachunova and Marta Meshinska/ came to the conclusion that young people need information about the importance and the ways of using recycled materials in order to save energy and protect the environment.

  1. Marta Meshinska was my English teacher in 8th grade. I have to admit that she is a great person! She is really creative and has pretty good ideas about making things. This was a wonderful event at school, and the kids loved it. We should have more days like that one!

  2. If you think that it was a wonderful event - you don't need to wait for another one, you can make some postcards - or to make some products - for example decoration with usage of recycled materials - and to send them to Mrs. Krachunova or Mrs. Meshinska and they will add them to the project's "activity folder". The kids are loving events of that type, right :-)
